Do I need to go to church?

Short answer

Church attendance doesn't earn God's favour. But the New Testament assumes Christians belong to a local community — for worship, teaching, and mutual care.

Deeper answer

If church has hurt you in the past, that is real and worth taking time with. But there are healthy communities — keep looking.

From the Bible

  • Hebrews 10:24–25

    NIV
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another — and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
