What does it mean to follow Jesus?
Short answer
To follow Jesus is to trust him, learn from him, and let his life and teachings reshape how you live, love, and relate to God.
Deeper answer
Following Jesus begins with trust — believing he is who he said he is, and that his death and resurrection are good news for you.
From there it becomes a life of learning his way: how he loved, how he prayed, how he forgave, how he served. It is not a checklist but a relationship.
From the Bible
Matthew 16:24
NIV“Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.””
John 10:27
NIV“My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.”
Galatians 2:20
NIV“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”
